The Red Magic 6R was unveiled on Thursday by ZTE's own brand Nubia as the latest gaming smartphone. It is an upgrade of Red Magics 6, which debuted in March as Red Magic 6 Pro.
The Red Magic 6R has a trigger pulled over the shoulder for an improved gaming experience. It features Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, 12GB of RAM and a maximum of 256GB of onboard storage. It also comes with a multidimensional cooling system that includes graphene liquid cooling and thermogel to deliver smooth games for long hours.
Red Magic 6R price, availability
It comes with Phantom Black Streamer and Silver color options. Red Magic 6R price was set at CNY 2999 It comes with 12GB and 128GB storage options at Cny3599 / r. It comes in Phantom Black Streamer and silver option.
The company has teamed up with Tencent Games to offer a limited edition of Red Magic 6R in yellow. It can be pre-ordered in China and the first sale is scheduled for June 1. The company did not say when the game will debut on the global market.
Red Magic 6R specifications
The Red Magic 6R features a 6.67-inch Full HD (1080x2400 pixels) super AMOLED screen with a 20: 9 aspect ratio, an adaptive refresh rate of 144Hz and a touch sampling rate of 360Hz. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. It runs Android 11 with Red Magic OS 4.0 at the top.
Optically, the Red Magic 6R features a quadruple rear camera consists of a 64-megapixel primary Sony IMX682 sensor with f / 1.8 lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies and video chats, the phone features a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front. This is an upgrade of the Red magic 6, which came with an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer and proximity sensor. The display also has a fingerprint sensor. Nubia offers touch support for shoulder triggers on the Red Magic 6R with a 400Hz touch sampling rate.
The phone also includes DTS-X Ultra audio. The Red Magic 6R has a 4200mAh battery with 55W quick charging support. In contrast, the Red magic 6 has a 5050mAh battery and 66W fast charge. The phone measures 16304x7534x78mm and weighs 186 grams.
